Mr & Mrs Monmont wanted to build a four bedroom sustainable home using SIPs. They originally bought a plot with building consent for a three bed bungalow and contacted their architect to design an environmentally friendly house which would suit their long thin plot. It took the Monmont’s a year to get planning permission due to the site being surrounded by bungalows but they eventually found a design that was acceptable to neighbours and the planners. The Monmont’s contacted several SIP manufacturers but decided to work with Sips Eco Panels due to the good response they got to their initial enquiry and were sold by the quality of the frame and affordable cost.
The unique design with overhangs and large areas of glazing led to their engineer recommending reinforced foundations. Due to the narrow site the build had to be long and thin but still manages to bring a lot of light into the building. A specific design requirement was that Mr and Mrs Monmont wanted to use a SIP frame and triple glazed combi windows.
Overall Mr & Mrs Monmont are very pleased with their beautiful modern home. Here is what they have to say about their experience with us:
“We have found the people from Sips Eco Panels to be very helpful. We found the initial contact with the sales team to be positive. They provided all of the necessary information very quickly and the quotation was clear without any hidden costs. The Sips Eco Panels design office liaised well with our architect, discussing the specific design challenges of the build with compromises being made to achieve the ideal finish”.
