Location: Kent, England
Area: 264m2
With integral garage, 2 en-suites and conservatory, this highly efficient build at 264m2 was an ambitious project for a first time self-builder. But, having already employed Sips Eco Panels’ architectural partner to do the initial design, Planning Application and Building Regulation drawings, Mr and Mrs Garner trusted us to supply and erect their frame.
After just a 3 week erection period, our erectors left the site leaving a frame that was weather-resistant and ready to be worked on outside and inside at the same time, saving time and money. The project Cost less than £1,100/m2 for the total build.
The design was for a large open feeling ground floor with integral garage and 4 large double bedrooms with a Master Suite including Dresser at first floor level. There was also an allowance for a car port and Conservatory down- stairs.
“Following our decision to build a house in our garden we quickly realised that there were a wide ranges of construction options. We knew we wanted a proven system which would not only stand the test of time and was cost effective, but would also provide a straight forward construction system along with high energy efficiency. Following research, visits to various exhibitions and watching programmes such as Grand Designs we came to the conclusion that SIP panels met all our requirements.
We contacted a number of SIP companies but we quickly realised that Sips Eco Panels not only had considerable experience with similar projects to ours but most importantly for us offered a complete service from feasibility study, and planning applications through to budgeting and independent project management.
The build was straight forward and within budget. The final result is all we hoped for which we are now thoroughly enjoying.”
